WHAT IS WORKSHOP?
The Launch Summer Leadership Workshop is a 59-year running, five-day, four-night, fun-packed, experiential leadership experience for students entering grades 6–12, hosted on Doane University's college campus. We anticipate hosting close to 900 students across Nebraska and beyond during our summer season 2020.
Launch Workshop brings out the best in students. Students are challenged, supported, and pushed to understand who they are in a safe, constructive environment. Our activities are created to make students think, not tell them how to think, or to give them all of the answers. We believe students learn best from each other. Each student is paired with a small group (co-op) for the week.
Through shared experiences, co-ops become like families and lifelong bonds are formed. Nearly 100 percent of our students would recommend Workshop to their friends (according to our 2018 student survey).
Workshop is hosted at Doane University in Crete, NE. We take over Doane's entire campus during the weeks of our Workshops. We are not placed in the same buildings as any Doane students or staff.
2020 Workshop Dates are:
Workshop 1: June 23-27, 2020
Workshop 2: July 14-18, 2020
We offer three separate Workshop programs, depending on student age.
Junior High and Middle School (JAM): For students entering 6-8 grades in the 2020 school year.
Senior High (SLW): For students entering 9-12 grades in the 2020 school year.
Advanced (ALW): For students who are entering 12th grade in the 2020 school year, have attended at least one Launch Workshop prior and want a more enhanced Workshop experience.
Because our passionate Volunteer Staffers donate their time, we’re able to provide an extremely affordable summer experience. A $350 registration fee provides lodging, food, and activities for your student over five days.
If you are registering multiple students and would like to set up a payment plan, please contact email@example.com
Scholarship Process: If you would like to apply for financial assistance, please select the Need-based Scholarship Application option during registration and follow the prompts. Once completed, a spot will automatically be reserved for your student. Our registration team will respond to your scholarship request within 2 business days. If you receive a partial or no scholarship, based on our criteria, we’re still happy to set-up a payment plan at that time.
